Rubber Sheets
When choosing a rubber sheet, you can consider things like:
Thickness, Temperature, Abrasion resistance, Ozone and UV resistance, Oil resistance, Acid resistance, Hardness.
Here are some types of rubber sheets:
- Silicone: Non-reactive and stable, these sheets can withstand extreme environments. They are used in automotive applications and medical devices.
- Neoprene: These sheets are good for corrosion resistant coatings and are used in power transformers and other electric purposes.
- EPDM: These sheets are resistant to acids, alkali, and ketones.
- SBR: These synthetic sheets are resistant to abrasion and wear. They are used in the construction and mining industries for conveyor belts and shoe soles.
- Butyl: These sheets are resistant to oil, weathering, chemicals, ozone, oxidation, greases, and sunlight. They are used in vacuum sealed applications.
- Viton: This synthetic rubber and fluoropolymer elastomer has exceptional temperature stability.
- Industrial: This general purpose rubber is used in many applications, including decorative, flooring runners, industrial buildings, and agricultural situations.

Nitrile rubber or acrylonitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) is a copolymer of butadiene and acrylonitrile. It has good general resistance to oil along with good mechanical properties especially tensile strength, flexing, compression set and impermebility to gases. It has moderate aging properties and good adhesion to metal. Its recommended operating temperature range is -30° C to + 120° C. It also displays a good resistance to inorganic chemical products. It gives satisfactory resistance to general hydrocarbons. Some of the grades are also recommended for food grade application. Due to its polar nature, we do not recommend its use with polar liquids like ketones, ethers and amines.

Natural Rubber Polyisoprene ( NR) is derived from latex liquid extracted from rubber trees. Originally cultivated in the Amzaon region, it is now cultivated extensively in South East Asia, Africa and India. This rubber has excellent mechanical properties, low compression set and high resilience. It also has excellent dynamic and rebound properties. The operating temperature range is from -40° C to + 70° C. It is available in a wide range of hardness from 30° to 90° shore A. It has good resistance to acids, alkalis and salts. It is not recommended for use in areas where it could come in contact with oils and hydrocarbons. NR is also blended with Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR) and polybutadiene (PBR) to obtain specific properties. Application wise they are used as skirt board sheets, bridge bearing pads, shot blasting sheets, high tensile tangum sheets, commercial sheets with & without cotton/nylon insertion etc.
